Brian Ahern is Civil Engineer and is currently working as a A/Senior Executive Engineer for the Roads Management Office (Public Lighting). Formerly he was part of the Energy Management Team that achieved ISO50001 certification for Cork County the first LA in Ireland to achieve this standard. Prior to working for Cork County Council Brian worked in the construction industry on many of the large motorway projects in Ireland and also in the Pharmaceutical industry.

Irelands National Public Lighting LED Retrofit Project
Presentation on the National Public lighting retrofit project where the aim is to replace all the Local Authority Public lights in Ireland (approx 480,000) with high efficiency LEDs. The plan is to reduce the energy consumption in the LA public lighting by over 50% and as a result help the local authorities reach their 2020 energy efficiency targets.
