Kieran established Ayrton Group (formerly Health & Safety Services) in 1993. Ayrton group now employ over 100 professionals, in all aspects of construction, as well as other safety roles. His qualifications include an MSc from Loughborough University & Diploma from UCC. Having first joined IOSH in 1995, Kieran is a Chartered Safety Practitioner & became a Chartered Fellow of IOSH (the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health) in 2009. Kieran has been a member of the National Executive of NISO, as well as founder member of the IOSH Committee. With a long established background in the manufacturing & construction sectors, Kieran has a wealth of knowledge regarding Project Management, Design & Safety Management Systems, along with what is required to in- still safe systems of work in all workplaces. He also deals with litigation issues, as well as H.S.A. criminal defences & expert witness. In accepting the roles of PSDP & PSCS as part of project management, it affords us the opportunity to consider wellness of the end user in the building, thus take into account the latest developments in ergonomics & the best preventative approaches for the buildings future use. In addition, Ayrton Group have probably the largest profile of PSDP projects in Ireland, which exposes Kierans work to design, planning & pre construction fire controls (via Fire Risk Assessments & post fire investigations) in many workplaces. Kieran has also been involved in the design of buildings which have won competitions such as the ‘Green Building’ & SEAI (Sustainable Energy) Awards.

Update on the PSDP & PSCS roles in Construction, H.S.A. expectations & recent court case fines.
Synopsis-
This talk with summarise the main aspects of the PSDP role, the PSCS role, along with the competencies required for accepting such roles. We will also discuss current expectations of the Health & Safety Authority, as well as the recent court case in which a fine at Circuit Court level was increased from €125k to €1million due to serious safety & health breaches.
